The Language of Bromance: A Platonic Improv Comedy Podcast

Proof that an idea can come to fruition even years after a conversation comes The Language of Bromance. A show that comes from the brains of Richard and Shawn. Richard a self confessed geek that has spent more time huddled around his dungeons and dragons books than seeing the sun talks with his friend Shawn. Shawn, who has a love of horror movies that rivals some of his relationships, is the willing copilot on this ship of fools.

Together they formed the podcast called The Language of Bromance and from there it has been nothing but fun. The duo laugh about things they go through, stories in the news and even getting serious discussing net neutrality along with other issues. Every so often their friendship turns to a bitter rivalry with their nerdiest creation the draft episodes. An original take on a best of or a top 10 list. The draft episodes are done like an NFL Draft 7 rounds where Richard and Shawn flip flop picks on various topics.

The Bromance team want build a community of people that are creators and encourage people to use their perspective and story to entertain or even change lives. Everyone has a story and everyone has a contribution to make to the world. This show and everything that Richard and Shawn do only serve the notion that we all can do something. This week Bro History class is in session as your Professors Richard and Shawn take you to the Old west.  Well actually it’s a few years after the old west.  The two follow the interesting life of Elmer J McCurdy.  A soldier, train robber, bank robber, and failed Wild West Criminal.

McCurdy’s life starts out already behind the 8 Ball as his Mother was unmarried when she became pregnant.  During the late 1800’s this was a very much looked down on but to make matters worse she didn’t know who the father was.  There were numerous rumors that it actually may have been her cousin.

To Get some stability in his life Elmer J McCurdy joins the army and becomes an explosive expert.  During this time they used Nitroglycerin.  Using the knowledge gained in the Military McCurdy recruits some fellow bandits to Rob a train.  Unfortunately the explosion doesn’t go to plan and little money is gained.

McCurdy attempts two more robberies in his career a bank and another train.  Both didn’t turn out as planned and ended in a shootout with some local sheriffs.  This is when the second tale of McCurdy begins.

After being embalmed by a local undertaker McCurdy's body goes on a Weekend at Bernies style ride.  McCurdy goes from being on display by the undertaker, to traveling carnivals, to traveling exhibits, to being on display at movies, to actually being in a movie.  How did no one know this was a human body?

Give a listen to The Language of Bromance in Episode 151 The Embalmed Bandit.
